August Camping in the Northwest

Our final weekend of family camping here in the great Northwest and a fantastic time was had by all. Weather changed as the days progressed - Friday (rain), Saturday (cloudy in am - sunny in pm), Sunday (hot). Here in the Northwest you just never know. However, there never was a quiet moment with 7 children, 9 and under, and 21 of us in total. Working on our website was put on hold for the weekend as we looked forward to a time of getting away from the everyday events, especially when you try to work with kids who are not in school for the summer months. Hot Days of August

Here in the Northwest people are used to "hot" weather. Anything over 90 F and most people freak out. Personally I love it. Today is the 10th day in a row over 90. End of July we set records on two days of 105 and 107 F. Sitting in an air-conditioned office as we work on our website, www.designerhandbagsplus.com, we aren't bothered too much. Since hot weather is my thing I escape every-now-and-then to soak in those rays of warmth and that all important, Vitamin D. Hope you are enjoying your summer as much as we are. Camping - Lot of Summer Fun

Here Wendie and I set working on our website, www.designerhandbagsplus.com, while the grandchildren are getting their TV fix for the day. Weather is absolutely beautiful, here in Oregon, and we are inside trying hard to make a buck! Something is wrong with this picture (inside vs. outside on a beautiful day). Oh well, things are changing, come tomorrow, as our entire family (all 11) will be joining other people from our church for a "HUGE" camping weekend. The theme for this year is "Hot Vegas Nights" and they ask each campsite to decorate. Our theme is a "Pink Flamingo Chapel" - lots of pink flamingos and lights, some what cheesy, and sort of trashy (plastic flowers and all), always fun, and great fellowship. Will let you know what fun we had.

July - Birthday Month of our Nation

Hard to believe summer is upon us. Both of us took a week off to celebrate our nation's birthday. We are proud to be Americans and pray for our country daily. Jean and her husband celebrated in South Dakota at a family reunion. What a wonderful time and weather we had. Very little humidity and mosquitoes - so we have nothing to complain about. It was great to see about 90 of her relatives. Wendie and her family spent time camping in Oregon and northern California with the 4th spent with their hunting buddies in southern Oregon. Everyone had a wonderful and relaxing time. Enjoy the month and never forget we are a nation founded as a democracy with many freedoms granted to all of us in our constitution. God bless the USA.

Beautiful May

It is such a beautiful day in Salem, Oregon today. The sun is shinning, the clouds are few, the breeze is nice. But guess what, Jean is in California again. I am here working, or semi-working, while the boss is on vacation. She wishes all our facebook friends well, and she will write a lovely message when she gets home. Have a great day, Wendie.

Easter Break in California

Our daughter, her husband and two boys joined us for a weeks trip to the San Diego area of southern California. Had a wonderful time doing amusement parks (Legoland, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Wild Animal Park, and Mission at San Juan Capistrano). Got a little amusement park overload. Weather was on the chilly (even misted on use one day) side. Who would ever believe that down there this week it was in the 100's? Ever need rain and cool weather, call on me, I'll come for a visit.
